Frank Camacho, a true man of the earth, born April 4th, 1921, died July 28, 2007. Frank spent his life growing things. Throughout his life, Frank planted and grew thousands of acres of cotton. He and Irene, his wife of 65 years, nurtured a healthy bountiful family. A daughter, Sylvia Gurule Larry, a son, Frank Margie, 7 grand-children, 16 great-grand children and 1 great-great-great grand child. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will commemerate his life with a Rosary on Wednesday evening, August 1st, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. The next day, August 2, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church at 4715 N. Central Ave., Phoenix at 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice of the Valley.

Marguerite Gertrude Ziegler Tingle, affectionately known as Honey, age 92, born in Chicago IL June 25, 1915 entered into rest peacefully Wednesday morning July 25, 2007 in a Scottsdale rest home. Marguerite is survived by 3 loving sons Terry, Dennis & Patrick, 4 grand children, 6 great grand children, countless family & friends. Marguerite was an accomplished, well-educated and commendatory woman. She attended College of Saint Francis in Joliet IL, worked as a secretarial banker for 28 years, was president of the BPW business & professional woman for 3 years, and was active in many social/charitable clubs and enjoyed flower gardening. She was a devote Catholic and attended church every Sunday. She especially loved spending time with her family and cherished every single moment. Her selflessness and unconditional love still remains with us. Marguerite had a very sweet disposition, always having a smile and positive outlook on each day. She led a full and rich life surrounded by those who loved her. She had a multitude of stories from her encounters throughout her lifetime and loved sharing them in conversation. She was a dedicated mother and encouraging friend. Her love & devotion for her husband were unwavering. Those whose lives she touched will deeply miss her. Joseph Henry Campbell, 56, of Scottsdale, Arizona, was killed on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 when the de Havilland Beaver floatplane he was flying for Taquan Air crashed near Ketchikan, Alaska. In addition to flying floatplanes, Joe flew 5 years in the Grand Canyon and spent 16 years flying utility/combat helicopters for the Army National Guard. He also spent time flying for America West Express in Phoenix, Arizona and Scenic Airlines in Las Vegas, Nevada. Clifford C. Petersen

Dr. Clifford Carl Petersen, 89, died July 19, 2007 at home in Phoenix. The beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather was a charter member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church 56th St. and Indian School Road where he tirelessly worked to preserve the church archives as well as serving for some 50 years in numerous other capacities.

As a young child, he exhibited strong interests in electronics. He pursued those interests throughout his life working first at Illinois Institute of Technology until 1954 when he accepted the position of Asst. Chief Engineer, Reliability at Motorola in Phoenix. He earned his Doctor of Engineering Degree at Arizona State University in 1970 and left Motorola in 1971 to teach Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, becoming a Full Professor in 1980. He retired Professor Emeritus from Purdue in June, 1986.

He married Margaret McKibbon, October 25, 1941 and was shipped overseas in January 1942 where he served our country valiantly in World War II stationed in New Caledonia and Guadal Canal. Major Petersen earned the Bronze Star for valor in providing his troops with extraordinary accurate maps he developed that enabled his battalion to deliver close and accurate fire in support of infantry in their attacks.

His wife Margaret died after more than 41 years of marriage and shortly thereafter he married Rose Marie Durdik and spent 20 years of ideal marriage combining foreign travel with their activities at Prince of Peace. Rose Marie died July 1, 2006.

He will be remembered for his love of his family, his courage in battle, his intellect and ability to share that knowledge with his students and his deep and abiding faith in his Savior.

Viewing will be held Tuesday, July 24, from 9:30-10:30 A.M. in the Narthex at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 3641 N. 56th St., Phoenix, AZ. The funeral service will proceed at 10:30 A.M. followed by a light luncheon. Graveside services will follow the luncheon.

He is survived by: Sons; Phillip and Daniel, daughters; Patti, Lisa and Jeannine, granddaughters; Kassia, Meghan, Ashley, Rachel and Amanda, great-granddaughter; Quinn, great-grandson; Kaiden and sisters; Gloria and Alice.

Pamela Jane Harris, 43, died of natural causes on July 22, 2007 at the Sherman Home Hospice of the Valley in Scottsdale, AZ. Pam was born on September 12, 1963 in Phoenix. She was the third daughter of the late Henry Barton Harris and Janice S. Harris Hess and beloved stepdaughter of the late Edward Leigh Hess. Pam attended Kiva Elementary, Saguaro and Arcadia High Schools, SMU and graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson, with a degree in Psychology. Pam earned a teaching certificate and a Masters in Education from A.S.U. Pam taught in the Scottsdale School District for 10 years. Pam is survived by her mother, Janice Hess of Paradise Valley, sisters: Susan Harris Mertens Herbert of Escondido, CA; Cynthia Harris Mahoney Dan; MaryAnne Hess Reinking Bill and brother, Carl Edward Hess Cheryl, all of Scottsdale, AZ. Pam was a loving aunt to her 10 nieces and nephews; Tyler, Niki and Claire Mertens; Tres, Henry and Malin Mahoney; William and Jacob Reinking; Carl and Sean Hess. Jerry Miles Laughlin, 80, of Phoenix died July 19, 2007 in Pinetop, Arizona. Jerry was born in Oklahoma City, OK May 16, 1927. He moved to Arizona in 1935 with his father Charlie, mother Norma and sister Jody. Jerry graduated from North High in Phoenix in 1945 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged in August of 1946 and soon followed his father and grandfather into the cotton business. Jerry opened his own cotton brokerage firm in Phoenix in 1963, Laughlin Cotton Co. He was a longtime member and past President of the Phoenix Cotton Exchange, past President of the Western Cotton Shippers Association, and Director of the American Cotton Shippers Association. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Elizabeth, sister Jody Smith and brother-in-law Dick Smith, brother-in-law Roy Calhoun Barbara, Laurie Laughlin and Jennifer Kokalis Jason, sons Matthew Laura and Jerry Miles, Jr. Susan, and grandchildren Katie, Matthew, Peter, Brian, Layne, Hannah, Molly, Jeremy, and Grace, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
