Daniel Dan Thomas Rich died on April 30, 2009 at the age of 76. He was born on December 24, 1932 in South Bend, IN to the late Ronald Emil and Lucille Cecelia Bickel Rich. He graduated from John Adams High School in South Bend in 1950 and then attended the University of Notre Dame for two years, at which time he was called to serve in the US Army during the Korean War. After service, he returned to South Bend and then attended and graduated from Purdue University in 1959 with a BS in Aeronautical Engineering. Upon graduation, he accepted a position with AiResearch Manufacturing Company later The Garrett Corporation

Romanin, Margaret M. Peggy

89, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2009. Peggy was born in New York City on November 29, 1919. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Aldo Romanin, sons Harry Romanin Lise, John Romanin Karen, Robert Romanin Angela and daughter Amy Zrike Ken. Peggy will be missed by her brother Dargin Smith Patti, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Peggy spent much of her later years drafting a fictional novel. Peggy also loved to travel, loved her animals, opera, reading, cooking, and raising her family, who will miss her so very much. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting a donation to Hospice of Arizona, 2222 W. Northern Avenue, #100, Phoenix, 85021.

Charles M. Peters of Phoenix, died April 28, 2009. He was born April 9, 1917 on a farm in Morgan County near Jacksonville, Illinois. He had one son, Charles T. Peters, who passed away February 20, 2006. Mr. Peters was a Veteran of WWII and saw service in France, Belgium and Germany. He was a life member of VFW Post 720 in Phoenix. He will be buried with Honors at 9:00 am, on Friday, May 1, 2009, in Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in the same site as his beloved wife of 57 years, Maxine W. Peters who preceded him in death in 1999. He was loved by everyone who knew him.

Sandra Denise Dukeman, 52, of Phoenix, Az died Sunday April 26 in
Phoenix. She was born March 2 1957 in Salem, Oregon to Oren and
Beverly Ryals. She moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1972, and relocated
to Phoenix, Az in 1990

Sandra was a vibrant, outgoing woman who touched many lives with her
compassion, positive outlook and generosity. She was passionate about
art and creativity, and was currently studying interior design at
Phoenix college. She also loved animals, the ocean, and sharing time
and conversation with friends and family. Her other interests ranged
from baseball to writing, as well as travel to Mexico and Cuba.

Sandra is survived by two daughters, Billie Lynn Siedow of Jupiter, FL
and Elizabeth Ann Siedow, of San Fransisco, CA, mother Beverly Ryals
of Cheyenne, sisters Linda Bob Pobuda of Japan, Karen Ray
Doerscher of Cheyenne, Diane Wendell Harrell of Cheyenne, and Sarah
Drew Kelley of Cheyenne and many nieces and nephews.

Lois Wolcott Manning

Passed away in Scottsdale, AZ on April 26, 2009 at the age of 91. Lois was born February 14, 1918 at her Grandmother Dora’s boarding house in Brooklyn, NY. Her parents were George Van de Bise Catuna and Georgia Haynes Wolcott. Lois attended Brooklyn Friends School, Northport High School and attended Hofstra University, Hempsted, NY the year it first opened 1935. She married John Robert Manning, Sr., in l941 in Elizabethtown, NJ and they later relocated to Arizona. Lois began her career at Trinity Church in Manhattan, NY and later retired from the State of Arizona where she held positions at the Employment Security Commission later known as DES. She introduced her descendants to past generations through her dedicated research and analysis of her family’s genealogy. Lois was preceded in death by her husband John Robert Manning, Sr., daughter June Manning Shaw, son-in-law Paul Shaw and grandson Bill Sershon. Poister, Robert Arthur Bob, 81, of Phoenix, passed away on April 25th, 2009 at his home in Arcadia. Born in Mansfield, Ohio to Kels & Irene Poister. He served in the Navy during WWII and after the war became an Electrical Engineer which brought him to Phoenix in 1962 to work on one of the first modern Mainframe Computers of it’s time. Bob was an excellent mechanic, and loved to restore antique cars, of which he won several awards for his work. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ann H. Poister, son Robert A. Poister Jr. and Daughter Amy L. Poister-Newman. Visitation will be held Monday, May 4th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, with a Graveside Service Tuesday, May 5th at 9:30 a.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. Phoenix.

Mary Ellen Butler entered into her heavenly Father’s Arms on April 25, 2009. She was born November 21, 1911 in Oxly, Missouri. She received her teaching degree from Mt. St. Clare and her Masters Degree in Education from University of San Diego, CA. She will be remembered for her passion for teaching, devotion to family, and service to God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Basil Butler, and son, Barry Butler, as well as her parents and seven siblings. She is survived by her siblings Leo Ryan, Margarette Peg Crain, and Cecil Ryan, as well as dozens of nieces and nephews. Her niece, Linda Schlenker, nephew Brent Schlenker, and their children Emma, Matthew and Grace were blessed to share their home with Mary Ellen the last year of her life. Matthew 25:23 “well done, good and faithful servant.” A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, May 1, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2312 E, Campbell Ave. Phoenix. Edward Alphonse Toschik

Edward A. Toschik, 89 went happily to be with the Lord on April 21, 2009, just ten days before his 90th birthday. He was born May 1, 1919 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to George and Catherine Durler. Ed graduated from Messmer High School and his first job was at the Warner Theater in Milwaukee. He was married on May 30, 1941 and later joined the Navy during World War II. He served on the aircraft carrier USS Siboney 1944-46. Ed’s wife Bernadette Mondloch passed in 1953 shortly after the family moved to Phoenix where they lived on Clarendon Avenue and were members of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. Ed joined Motorola Corporation upon his arrival in Phoenix and stayed with them until retirement. He married his loving wife Amy Burbank in 1954 and together they had three children bringing the family to seven children. Ed has always been very active in his church, St. Thomas the Apostle, where he was a server at morning mass and a member of the Holy Name Society. He was a very loving man who had many friends. He will be missed by all. Ed is survived by his children Mary, Dorothy, Edward, William, Theresa, and Rita son Damian is deceased, 1968. He is also survived by, his sister Catherine, brothers Larry and Bro. Cyrus Franciscan and 32 grand/great-grand children. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 29, from 8:30-9:00 am, at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home with a 9:00 am Rosary. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, April 29, at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2312 E. Campbell Avenue. Interment at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
