Michael J. Campbell 45, beloved son of Jack and Geraldine, passed away the morning of August 27, 2009. Michael was born on February 26, 1964. He lived most of his life in Toms River NJ. He moved to AZ 11 years ago. He is survived by his parents, siblings Margaret, Beth, John and Jennifer and his nieces and nephewas well as many close friends. Michael possessed a love for life and will be truly missed by the many people he has touched throughout his lifetime. Visitation will be held from 3:00 -5:00 pm, Sunday, August 30, with a Rosary at 5:00 pm at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phx. 29, beloved wife and mother passed away peacefully on August 27th after fighting a courageous battle against cancer. She was born September 26, 1979 in Phx., AZ to Joe and Nanette Gwaltney. Kim was a kind-hearted person, always thoughtful and generous, touching the lives of all who crossed her path. Her incredible spirit, bravery, strength, and love for life was an inspiration to all. She lit up the room with her smile and filled it with joy with her laugh. She was a tremendous athlete and worked in the real estate business as a realtor. Kimberly is survived by her husband Deron, children Dylan, Kyrstin and Deanna, parents, Joe and Nanette Gwaltney, and brother, Scott Gwaltney. On Wednesday, Sept. 2nd, Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phx., AZ 85018. Funeral Service will be held at Christ Church of the Ascension, 4015 E. 63, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2009. Jo-Em was truly a remarkable woman who never let anything stand between her and her family. Her loving, caring and gracious manner will be greatly missed by those who were blessed in knowing her. Despite a valiant effort in defending herself against cancer for the past four years, she now rests in peace. She exuded the utmost class throughout her difficult health issues, never permitting interference with her positive outlook or indomitable spirit. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. Jo-Em was the best of everything and she will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband Jim; her children Brad, Jaime, Jim, Ted and Becky; daughter-in-laws Arlene, Amy and Felicia; and her grandchildren Sammy, Andie and Logan. A Memorial Service is to be held Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Barnabas on the Desert, 6715 N. Mocking Bird Lane, Scottsdale, AZ 85253. AZ. Marilyn “Lynn” MacLelland Portis, 1/1/1926 – 8/25/2009. Died peacefully after a long bout with cancer. Survived by her husband, James of 46 years and her sister Joy MacLelland. She was active in the Heard Museum Guild for a number of years, serving as chairman of the arts and craft show, the Indian fair and as treasurer. After retirement she and her husband traveled full time in their motor home for over 10 years going to 49 states and all Provinces of Canada. She was a student of the Civil War and visited almost all of the battlefields, her favorite being Gettysburg, PA. Donations to the American Cancer Society, 4550 E. Bell Road, Phoenix, AZ. 85032. Passed away peacefully on August 23. She was born December 19, 1923 in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. She moved to Phoenix with husband Louis about 1948 and worked for many years in the insurance business. Later she managed the office for Kino Institute before retiring. Rosemary was involved in many volunteer activities for St. Agnes School and Parish publishing the parish newsletter for many years and organizing various fundraisers. She is survived by her sister, Jeanne of St. Paul, MN, sons Ron Ronda, Gene MaryMargaret, and Jim Karen and grandchildren, Erin, Andrew, Megan, Amanda, Alexander, Lindsay and Joseph. Visitation is Friday, August 28, 5pm to 8pm and Rosary at 7pm at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, August 29, at St. Agnes Catholic Church at 11am with Interment at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. Passed away August 23, 2009. She was born August 30, 1920 in Phoenix, to Simona and Harry Broderick. She was a charter member of St. Matthews Parish, a Red Cross Volunteer during WWII, a secretary for Arizona Highways Magazine, but most of her life was dedicated to her family. She attended St. Mary’s High School where she met her husband, Rip. They raised their 9 children on Polk Street where there are many happy memories. Irene will always be remembered as a loving mother, aunt, grandmother and friend. Her generous hospitality, deep faith in God, and loving guidance will forever remain in our hearts. She is predeceased by her husband Rip, her son Stephen, son-in-law William Kanther, brothers Charles Alday, Harry and Lefty Broderick, sisters Lilly Smith, Susan Bogue and Edna Conley. She is survived by her daughters Mona Kanther, Laura Robbins Bryan, Ann, Carmelita Tucker Allen, Mary Dominguez, sons Andrew Terri, Guy Tish, Matthew Tammi, daughter-in-law Nancy, 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Visitation and Rosary will be Thursday, August 27, 2009, 5:00-6:30 pm., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2038 W. Van Buren Street. Interment will be private.
