THOMAS R DAVIS
September 23, 2009
Davis, Thomas Ritchey “Tom”
79 of Phoenix, completed his life’s journey on September 23, 2009 and went home to his lord following his long illness. Born April 21, 1930 in Wilmot, Arkansas to Walter and Leta Davis he grew up loving the “southern ways”. In l945 the Davis Family moved from Wilmot, to Casa Grande, AZ. Following High School graduation Tom enlisted in the U.S. Navy and completed his active service in l949. Tom’s business successes were many; but his true love was focused on his successful Davis Wholesale Auto business. He enjoyed his long hours, coffee with friends and daily business associates; and time with his car lot dogs. His sense of humor and wit was infectious, and his blue eyes were filled with kindness and generosity. This was always felt by family and friends. Tom is survived by his children and their spouses Tom and Carol Davis, Marty and Diane Davis, Ann Davis and stepdaughter Lana Kelly and husband Sal Salese. There are also 6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. A special “thanks” must be extended to The Terraces Skilled Nursing Facility, for their loving and caring staff during his final months. A second special thanks must also be extended to Hospice of the Valley Highland for all they provided to both Tom and family. A Celebration of Life Gathering will occur in the near future, typical of Tom Davis, not inconvenient to others and “on me”. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity. Arrangements entrusted to Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home.
