83, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2009 in Phoenix, AZ. Born September 16, 1926 in Tollison, AZ, the son of Lewis S. Sponcel, Sr. and Artie E. (Stephens) Sponcel. He served in the Army in the Koren War in the 7th Signal Co. APO 7. He worked at Phoenix Auto Wrecking with his two brothers until retirement. He is survived by son Wayne Sponcil, granddaughters Rebecca and Sarah. He was preceded in death by his wife Rosemary Sponcil. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am, Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. A Graveside Service will follow at 11:30 am, at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, 401 N. Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, Az.

Hinkes, Josephine “Jo” 88, passed away on December 18, 2009. She was born on March 20,1921 in Chicago, IL. She is survived by her children Kathleen Spade (Roger), Michael (Cheryl), Patrick (Lori). Her grandchildren Roger Spade, Tina Miller, Tammy Simmons, Brad Hinkes, Chris Hinkes, Nicole Hinkes and Ryan Hinkes and 8 great grandchildren. Proceeded in death by her Husband, William Hinkes. Jo worked at First Interstate Bank of Arizona for over 20 years in the credit department. Mom, Grandma & GG your love and generosity will be missed greatly. age 85, served as a Machinist Mate in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Joseph was preceded in death by his wife Mary of 57 years. He is survived by his three daughters Cecilia Bean, Mary Lou Mitchell and Tracy Sanders. He is also survived by four grandchildren Michael Mitchell, Shaun Mitchell, Gayle Miller and Joseph Bean. Great grandchildren include Madison Mitchell, Gavin and Brenden Mitchell, Samantha Bean and Damon Miller. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 22 from 5:00P.M.-8:00P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00P.M. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd, Phx. Helen B. Loera (Baladez) 71, of Chandler, AZ born in Fort Morgan, CO, passed away on December 17, 2009 after a long battle with diabetes. She was preceded in death by her husband Manuel S. Loera. She is survived by her children Manuel P. Loera and Connie Van Sanford, grandchildren Matthew Loera, Anthony Van Sanford, Timothy Van Sanford and Victoria Van Sanford. She will always be remembered for her thoughtfulness and kindness. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Visitation was held from 10:00 am – 12:00, with a Funeral Service at 12:00 noon, Monday, December 21, 2009 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Interment followed at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
