Campbell, Hugh Martin passed away on December 18, 2008 at age 84. Born and raised in Montana, Hugh enlisted in the US Navy after completing high school, and served in the Pacific Theater during WW II. After his honorable discharge, Hugh returned to Missoula, received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Montana, and married his life partner, Joyce. Hugh worked in the retail clothing business until joining Wagner Furniture as a salesman. In the early 1960s, Hugh opened Campbell Furniture where he stayed until he and Joyce decided to locate in Phoenix in August 1968. Hugh, and his brother, Bill, worked together at Standard Printing Co., until opening Campbell Printed Communications from which Hugh retired. An avid Notre Dame and ASU fan, Hugh seldom passed up an opportunity to see the Irish or Sun Devils play football and baseball. Hugh also enjoyed fly fishing, a good book, and spending time with his family. Hugh is survived by his children Marty wife Patty, Noni, and Cathy husband Mark; grandchildren Dan wife Shannon, Merritt and Alexis Campbell, Spencer and KJ Larson, Philip and Monica Germann, and great grandkids Peyton and Abby Campbell.
