Albert C. Beto Laguna, Sr.

Albert “Beto” Laguna, Sr., 85 years of Phoenix, Arizona, died unexpectedly on February 25, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Phoenix, AZ, raised in the Grant Park neighborhood and moved to the Gold Gate Barrio “GGB” where he raised his family for the next 25 years. He worked as a mason tender retiring from Union Local #383. He enjoyed family gatherings with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jennie M. Laguna, 3 daughters, Jennie Rick Barragan, Annie Bill Burns, Lucy Laguna, 2 sons, Albert Linda Laguna Jr. and George Chavez, 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, brother David Laguna and sister Julia Figueroa. Rosary Service will be on Friday, February 29, 2008 at 7:00 PM at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., with viewing from 6 – 9 PM. Mass Service to be Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 11:00 AM, St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1954 North 24th St. Burial at St. Francis Cemetery immediately following.
