Dr, Eugene J. Ryan died on March 26, 2009 after a brief illness, at The Terraces care facility in Phoenix, his residence for the last 3 years. Born in Hazleton, PA. on September 17, 1919 to Anna M. Doud and Timothy Ryan, Gene graduated from the University of Notre Dame and Jefferson Medical College. After a private practice in Philadelphia, Gene began practicing Occupational Medicine with E.I. DuPont in Delaware and West Virginia for 10 years. In 1961 Gene and his family moved to Phoenix where he founded and established the Occupational Medical Clinic. From 1961 to 1987 the practice expanded to provide medical services to over 100 businesses, industrial and government organizations in the Valley, among them the city of Phoenix and Anchor Life Insurance Company. He co-founded The Arizona Health Plan, Arizona
