Frances Anita Stroup, 82, of Scottsdale, born June 4, 1925 in Danville, IL, passed away on May 26, 2008 in Opelika, AL. She was a dedicated 3rd grade teacher at Hohokam for over 20 years. Mrs. Stroup was a member of Scottsdale Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband George Leonard Stroup. Survivors include her daughter, Mary A. Stroup-Gardiner and son-in-law, John W. Gardiner of Chico, California. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday, May 30, 2008 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Scottsdale Presbyterian Church, 3421 N. Hayden Rd., with Reverend John Fredrick officiating. Burial will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens, 401 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale.
