GERALDINE ANNE SHARKO
Geraldine “Geri” Sharko, 71, of Paradise Valley, beloved wife, loving mother and grandmother, passed away November 27, 2008, after a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, which was in remission for 22 years. Born June 25, 1937 in Chicago, she moved to the Valley in 1976 with her family. She was the daughter of Anne and Stanley Paluch, both deceased. Geri is survived by her husband of 47 wonderful years, Gregory, and their five children Greg Karen, Gail Bill Littleton, Gary, Glen and Gerard Tammy. She also is survived by her brother Gene Paluch Rosemary and their four children, Mark, Leane, Bill and Julie. She was the loving grandmother of Hillary, Jillian, Bill Gail, Kristin, Caroline Greg, Julia, Jacalyn Gerard.
In 1976, she and her husband established Sharko’s Food Service in Phoenix. As a teenager, Geri worked for three years at the Sisters of Mercy Hospital in Chicago, assisting disabled children. She was a contributor to several Phoenix area organizations, including Andre House, Maggie’s Place and Christ Child Society. She was a Eucharistic Adorer since 1987 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Scottsdale and a parishioner since 1976. Our Mom was an amazing person who touched the lives of so many people throughout her lifetime. She always thought of others, her family and the Lord — they meant everything to her. Mom will always be with us in our hearts and in our minds. Her spirit will live with us forever.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M., with a Rosary at 6:30 P.M. A Latin Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2312 E. Campbell. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 3877 N. 7th Street, Phoenix, 85014.
