Jones, Michael J. 55, who was born in Ft. Huachuca, AZ was called to the Lord on September 25, 2009 at 3:00 pm. After serving 4 years in the United States Army, Mike continued government service work with the Social Security Administration for 26 years. After retirement, he enjoyed cooking for his family and watching his favorite sports teams which included The Dallas Cowboys, the Phoenix Suns & the Arizona Diamondbacks. His true passion has always been taking care of his beloved pets; 2 dogs Lucy and Lucky and 1 cat, Boo Boo. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Jones and his only daughter Michelle Jones and brothers David and Woody Jones. Visitation will be at 10:00 am, with a Funeral Service at 11:00 am, Friday, October 2 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. A Graveside Service at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road will follow at 1:30 pm. We would like to extend our deepest thanks to Nurse Joann and Nurse Dawn and all the staff of St. Joe’s Hospital for the loving care they provided not only to our loved one, but to all of our family during this time of need. Your compassion and understanding were truly appreciated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the AZ Humane Society, 9226 N. 13th Avenue, Phx., AZ. 85021.
