Mary Alva Shaw

Mary Alva Shaw, 75, born on August 12, 1932 to Jesus and Cecil Solarez, passed away on June 1, 2008. Mary is preceded in death by her son Elmer LaVoie and brothers Gabriel, Pete and Francisco Solarez. She is survived by her husband John, of 33 years, sisters Mary Ann Nunez Tommy, Connie Ochoa, and brother Frank Solarez Carla, stepson Francis LaVoie, stepdaughters Susan and Judy, 10 grandchildren to include Melissa Deguire, Bryan and Michael LaVoie, Laura Dominguez, Robert and Tommy LaVoie, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mary retired from Motorola in 1992 where she worked for 29 years. While we are grieving here on earth, she is reunited with her son. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., with Rosary at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, June 5, at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd. Funeral Mass will be at 9:00 A.M. Friday, June 6, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 E. Thomas Rd., with interment following at St. Francis Cemetery.
