MARY J. LEYVA

Mary J. Leyva. Our Lord brought Mary to join her husband, Robert, in Heaven on July 12, 2008 after a three year illness. Born in Phoenix, AZ on July 13, 1922 and raised in Scottsdale, AZ. She will always be remembered as a dedicated Wife, Mother, Nana, Tia and loyal friend. She will continue to be her family’s cheerleader as she peacefully watches over her four children: Yolanda, Ophelia, Raquel, Robert; grandchildren: Deanna, Joe, Andy, Rudy, Antonio; great-grandchildren: Anthony, Christopher, Alejandro, Selena, Miguel and Adeiya. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, but especially Helen Brown and Queta Breceda, who helped us so much with our mother. She instilled many values in her family, but the most important was her devotion to her Catholic faith. We will miss you Mom, but will always feel your love. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix from 5:00-8:00 pm with the Rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at St. Mark’s Church, 400 N. 30th St., Phoenix at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 21, 2008. Interment will be at St. Francis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, make donations in Mary’s name to St. Mark’s Church.
