PAMELA HARRISON

PAMELA HARRISON

Pamela Stevens Harrison. Our beloved Pamela passed away July 13, 2008 surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on December 20, 1938 to Bill and Helen Stevens in Kansas City, Missouri. She attended Tucson High School where she played tennis and won the 1956 Singles Arizona State Tennis High School Title. She attended the University of Colorado and graduated in 1960 with a teaching degree. It was here she met her husband, James Dunbar Harrison, and married on July 23, 1960. Together they raised 3 beautiful children. During this time she was a Girl Scout leader, head of the junior development for the Phoenix District Tennis Association, sounded the satellite tennis programs and coached the Arcadia Girls High School Tennis Team. After her children were raised, she began working in the real estate business. For the past 16 years, she had been the general manager and heart and soul of Harrison Properties. She loved to travel and enjoyed many trips with her family and friends including several bike trips to Europe and Japan, attending cooking school in France and gorilla watching in Uganda. Tennis was a huge part of her life and she was a true competitor. Her favorite sayings were “show me a good loser and I’ll show you a loser” as well as, “no sniveling”. She loved to swim every morning with her Village Club friends and play tennis. Her best family memories were camping and fishing trips, skiing, beach vacations, tennis and back yard pool time. Pam’s family was always the center and most important part of her life as well as all her extended family and close friends. She was our glue and we will greatly miss her love, leadership, values and passion for life. She is survived by her husband of 48 years James Dunbar Harrison, Sr., her brother Jeffrey Michael Crowe of Phoenix, Arizona, her children James and Alicia Dunbar Harrison of Phoenix Arizona, James and Katharine Cochran of Greenwood Village, Colorado and Jeffrey and Melisa Harrison, M.D. of Ogden, Utah and 11 energetic grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at Christ Church of the Ascension located at 4015 East Lincoln Drive, Paradise Valley at 10:00 a.m. on July 17, 2008. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Phoenix District Junior Tennis Development Program at www.phoenixtennis.com
