Peggy A. Ashby

In Memorial

Peggy A. Ashby, 76, began her next journey on June 21, 2007 after battling cancer for several years. She was a native Arizonan born in Winslow on October 15, 1930 to parents, Andy Anderson and Peggy McCray Anderson. Raised in Holbrook with her two sisters, Netty Anderson Ray and Betty Anderson Jongeward, all three girls were proudly educated at Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah. In 1948, Peggy traveled to Phoenix for nurses training, but instead found her life long companion, Benjamin Parker Ashby. They were married on November 26, 1949 in Yuma, AZ, and Peggy began her career of homemaker, wife and mother, raising her children and caring for her husband in the Phoenix area for 57 years. She loved books, music and dancing and seemed to smile the most on hot summer days in our desert. She always had a warm place in her heart for all God
