Robert Arthur Poister

Poister, Robert Arthur Bob, 81, of Phoenix, passed away on April 25th, 2009 at his home in Arcadia. Born in Mansfield, Ohio to Kels & Irene Poister. He served in the Navy during WWII and after the war became an Electrical Engineer which brought him to Phoenix in 1962 to work on one of the first modern Mainframe Computers of it’s time. Bob was an excellent mechanic, and loved to restore antique cars, of which he won several awards for his work. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ann H. Poister, son Robert A. Poister Jr. and Daughter Amy L. Poister-Newman. Visitation will be held Monday, May 4th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, with a Graveside Service Tuesday, May 5th at 9:30 a.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. Phoenix.
