AROS, MARY LOU

December 24, 2012 Leave A Condolence

AROS,

82, a native Phoenician passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 21st, 2012.  Born on October 26th, 1930, Mary Lou dedicated her life to the service of others.  As a devoted Nurse, Wife, Mother, Nanee, Sister, Auntie, Nina and Friend, Mary Lou’s unconditional love, compassion, patience and sense of humor made her an absolute joy to be in the presence of.  Mary Lou has reunited with her husband Rudy, eldest son Rudy, Jr. “Marty” and her grandson Lewis “Marty”.  She will be dearly missed by her children, Berna, Lewis and Cindy Aros (Cynthia Simmons/Caretaker), sisters Gloria (Reynaldo) Cota and Lydia Contreras, grandchildren Rachelle, Roman, Xavier, Renee, Selina, Gina, Sarah and Maria, 11 great-grandchildren and large extended family.  A Visitation and Celebration of Mary Lou’s life will be held at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, Arizona on Thursday, December 27th, 2012 from 11:00am to 1:00pm.  Interment immediately following at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th Street, Phoenix, AZ.  A reception will be held at The Meadows Clubhouse, 2401 W. Southern Avenue, Tempe, AZ.  We are proud that she was able to continue her life’s work, even in death, by contributing to others through her tissue donation to benefit those recovering from burn injuries.  She really was a hero!
