It’s with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather. He left us to join his Heavenly family on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the age of 87. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Lopez (Rudy), sons; Manuel, Raymond (Elaine) and Richard Balderas; 7 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 9 step great grandchildren in addition to his sisters, Ofelia Ramirez, Mary, many nieces and nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved Mother, Erlinda Balderas and Father, Trinidad Balderas, his beautiful wife, Hortencia Balderas, his brother, George Balderas, sisters, Gloria Felix and Lucy Estril. His greatest past time after his retirement from the Maricopa County Highway Dept. was to spend his summers at his cabin in Heber, Arizona. Our Father was wise beyond his limited elementary education. He was able to plan and achieve his goals by providing a good life for his wife and family. He purchased the land that he built his cabin on and went on to buy additional land and properties as an investment for his children. He was an intelligent, strong, humble, faithful and loving family man. Our father exemplified the meaning of “Unconditional Love” towards his family and friends. He was our “Rock” and we will forever miss his presence, teachings and love. We know that you are no longer in pain and are now strong again to continue to watch over us as you always have, even better now with your Heavenly family at your side. Till we meet again Dad, we will continue to love you and think of you daily. Please give little Nana and Mom a hug and many kisses for us. Visitation will take place from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, with a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Interment will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. Vaya Con Dios Dad.

Uncle Ray is my great uncle his sister Gloria was my grandma. Uncle Ray is a consummate gentle person, he exuded kindness and love, I don’t remember seeing him angry or grumpy. His smile was always bright. I loved him very much even if I wasn’t always able to visit him. He was the kind of man who loved and took care of those he loved he gave his all to those he loved.
I’m so sad he has passed on to Heaven. I sorry for your loss, cousins.
