Patricia Marie Conway Baldridge

Patricia Marie Conway Baldridge, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter Kathie in Phoenix on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. She was 93. Patricia was born on May 25, 1928 in Iowa City, Iowa. In 1950, she married Robert Baldridge and moved with him to their farm near Vinton where they lived for 62 years.

Patricia was deeply devoted to the Holy Family, especially the Virgin Mary. She was seldom seen without a rosary, and prayed constantly for her children and grandchildren. She loved to play scrabble and Pinochle with friends and family, and remained the champion scrabble player until her final illness. She was also an accomplished cook, seamstress and landscape painter.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Charles Leo Conway and Lydia Bear Conway; her husband Robert Donald Baldridge Jr.; her Brothers John, Charles, Robert, Donald and Glenn Conway; her sisters Dorothy Conway Meloan and Sherilyn Conway; and her son-in-law Neill Lund. She is survived by her brother-in-law Ray Standard; her sister-in-law Winnie Conway; her children Christina (William) Sweigard, Kathleen (Larry) Thiher; Karen Keninger, Mary Lund, James (Lisa) Baldridge, Teresa (Duane) Haifley; and Joseph (Tammy) Baldridge; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Rosary and Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Quito Catholic Church, 9009 South 18th Street, Phoenix, at 9:00 on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00. Burial will be in Vinton, Iowa at a later date. In lieu of flowers to honor Patricia’s life, , The family asks that donations be sent to The Seeing Eye, the organization that has provided guide dogs to two of her daughters or to Birthright, another favored charity.
