
Albert Ira Barnes, the 10th child born to Alvinza and Mary Barnes on August 24, 1923 in Myers, New York. He served honorably in the United States Army during WWII in France. He retired from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York as a master plumber. He married Polly (Olive Crockford) on August 6, 1945. Polly preceded him in death in 1999. He lives on through his children, Gene (Kathy) of Cortland, New York, Cheryl of Phoenix, AZ and Lou (Marianne) of Mesa, AZ. Grandchildren Brett, Derek, Mark, Robert, Rebecca and Albert. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Brian A Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Graveside service with Military Honors will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix, AZ. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in his name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Plaza, Memphis, TN 38105.
