Bashkingy, George Nicolas
84, of Phoenix entered eternal life on July 3, 2012. Born October 31, 1927 in Paterson, NJ to Naim (Norman) and Yemile (Jennie) Bashkingy and moved to Phoenix in 1948. Married to Dorothy Marie Drabek of Youngstown, OH in 1957 at St. Mary’s Church in Phoenix raising 4 children. Preceded in death by siblings Margie Roose, Emily Cusimano and Louis Bashkingy. Survived by his loving wife Dorothy, sons George (Teri), Norman (Alicia) and Raymond (Andrea) and daughter Mary Weissman, 10 grandchildren and soon to be 3 great grandchildren; sisters Mary Kostisak, Lilly Miley, Lorriane Smith, Jeanie Romaniuk and Beatie Noli. Visitation is 6 – 9 pm with Rosary at 7 pm on Thursday, July 5 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix 602-840-5600. Funeral Mass will be at 10am, Friday, July 6 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 E. Thomas Rd., Phoenix. Interment will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
