Luberta Otis Beasley

Luberta Otis Beasley was born February 2, 1945, in Louisiana to the late Pinky Webb Bell and the late Robert Otis. She was the third of four children.

Luberta loved the Lord and was a home bound member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, attending service via social media. She joined Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, under the tutelage of the late Bishop Alexis A. Thomas. As an active member she enjoyed second service on Sunday mornings, bible study on Wednesday nights, walking in the park with the seniors, and volunteering her voice with the women’s choir.

Luberta departed this world on July 21, 2021. She is preceded in death by her late husband Henry Beasley of Flagstaff, Arizona; also, an older brother, Floyd Wright (Janie) and sister Mary Lee Jackson (Ephraim), both of Jena, Louisiana.

Luberta leaves to cherish her memory a son Sean Beasley, two grandchildren Kahlia and Kahlil Beasley: a younger brother Joseph Webb (Mary Suarez), a sister-in-law Elmira Spence (late Mike), a companion Oliver Jackson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and acquaintances.

Luberta also known as “Birdie”, “Aunt or Auntie Bert” and “LuAlberta” carried a big heart full of love and advice. She welcomed all with warm hugs and kisses. Aunt Bert was very adventurous, stayed on the go and loved to travel. She often said with a smile or laughter, “I don’t let the grass grow under my feet.”
