BERGER, TILLIE

May 3, 2019 3 Condolences

In Memorial

Tillie Berger, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2019. She was born in Ellwood City, PA to Andrew and Ksenia Krawchyk. She spent her early years in Koppel, PA, then moved out to California for much of her life, and more recently to Gilbert, AZ.

Tillie worked as a loan officer at various credit unions in CA, then gained her real estate license later in life. She loved real estate and meeting people, two of her passions.

Tillie was a very active member at St. Ignatius Orthodox Church and her strong faith was a beacon for others. She was famous for her baked goods and bake sales. She was always positive, smiling, and had an encouraging word to inspire others. She was often the first to greet newcomers to the church or in her neighborhood, usually with baked goods in hand.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers (John, Frank, Andrew, James), and six sisters (Ann, Katherine, Mary, Helen, Pearl, Rose).

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ron, daughters Jo Ann, Nancy, son in law Ron, granddaughter Trinity, her brother Pete(Agnes) of Littleton, CO and her brother Steve of Koppel, PA, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and even more loving friends.

Tillie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be deeply missed. She touched the lives of so many people and we will cherish those beautiful memories.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 4th, 2019 at 10am at St. Ignatius Orthodox Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Building Fund at St. Ignatius Orthodox Church, 5515 E Redmont Circle, Mesa, AZ 85215.

To Tillie’s loving family: When my husband and I first attended St. Ignatius, Tillie was the first person to welcome us and made us feel like part of the family. A hug from Tillie was genuine and we always looked forward to it. We moved back home to Utah 6 years ago – but, visited AZ whenever we could. We looked forward to seeing our friends at St. Ignatius and always looked for Tillie. We will miss her.

Ive known Tillie since I was very young. She worked with my Mom in the Credit Union business for years. Later, she and I worked in Real Estate together in Redondo Beach. Always laughing and always full of life. And, the best baker on the planet. All my thoughts go out to Ron, Nancy, and JoAnn, whom I have not seen for many years. R.I.P. dear, sweet Tillie.
