of Paradise Valley, Arizona, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2009 at the age of 84. She was born in Billings, Montana and attended Montana State University where she graduated with honors in 1947. Betty moved to Paradise Valley in 1958 and soon became a dedicated volunteer for many charitable organizations. She was a talented water color artist and valued the special friendships formed in her book club, which has met regularly for close to 50 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, the late Bob Luxford. The warmth of her presence and her loving care for others will always be cherished by her daughters Sally Ryan Stults Jim and Betsy Ryan Miller Doug, as well as by her grandsons, Ryan and Blake Miller, whom Betty adored. Betty was known for the almost constant smile on her face and we will keep that smile in our hearts when we think of her. A service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, May 15th at 4 p.m. in the Memorial Garden at St. Barnabas on the Desert church, located at 6715 N. Mockingbird Lane, Scottsdale.
