BISHOP, JERRY LEE

July 3, 2015 21 Condolences

BISHOP,

Jerry Lee Bishop 49, passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2015.  Jerry an Arizona native, was born in Phoenix, AZ on September 28, 1965 to Dan and Judy Bishop.  Jerry is preceded in death by his mother Judy Bishop and brother Chris Bishop.  Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle and friend to all who knew and loved him.  Jerry leaves behind his son Cody Daniel Bishop (Stephanie Guaderrama), granddaughter Emma Mae Bishop, best friend and ex-wife Shirley Consiglio Bishop, father Daniel Glenn Bishop, step-mother Judi Bishop, sister Laurie Ann Bishop and countless nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends.  Jerry attended St Agnes Grade School and at various times St. Mary’s High School, Camelback High School while graduating from Wyaconda High School in Wyaconda, Missouri.  After High School Jerry joined the Army where he remained for seven years as Sergeant while being stationed in Lawton, OK and Wiesbaden, Germany.  Jerry was a Landscaper for many years but in all reality Jerry was a Jack of all trades and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do.  There are several activities that Jerry really loved with the top four being fishing, biking, barbecuing and sleeping, he loved a good nap.  Jerry was taken from this earth way too soon but his light will shine on in all of those that loved him.  Jerry will be truly missed and never forgotten. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 10, 2015 at 4PM at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85018.

Lots of good times and memories, hanging out with my cousin jerry. I remember all of the fun summers, when jerry, dan, Judy, Chris and Laurie would come visit us in kirksville. We would go swimming and fishing at the pond by Mel and Bill Eagens house. And most days, there was a fist fight between Chris and jerry. In the evenings we would go to the ballpark, to watch ball games. The first time I saw someone light a fart was jerry, at Brian killdays trailer in Kirksville, while listening to the Doors, on the record player and drinking buckhorn beer. I could come up with more stories, but that will do for now. See you, jerry on the other-side!

Now I did not get to spend enough time with Jerry over the years as all of his nearest family and friends have, but his extreme love of fireworks deserves to be mentioned at this time of year. Him and his family being around for the Fourth of July always made for a special holiday, complete with stories I may take to my grave. God bless ya brother, light em’ up!
