Nellie Blanco

Nellie Blanco, born March 21, 1930 in Phoenix Arizona was called home to be with her beloved Jesus on April 7, 2021, just after her 91st birthday. She was a gentle and generous soul who gave of her time and resources for the benefit of others. She loved to read her Bible and listen to her favorite Christian radio station. She loved going to prayer meetings with her family. She could always be counted on for a ride, a hot meal, or to watch the grandkids. She had a love for animals of all kinds and her home became a refuge for injured and displaced pets. She worked at Mountain Bell and Motorola. She was a High School graduate of PUHS, class of 1947. She was married for 65 years to her beloved husband, David F Blanco who preceded her in death.  She had three children: Yolanda Blanco-Solis, (Timothy, now deceased), David “Mark” Blanco, (Norma), Svetlana Madsen, (Obadiah), 6 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, David F Blanco, and parents and brothers, Arturo & Herminia Urias, Arturo Jr Urias, Raymond Urias, Johnny Urias. She is survived by her brothers and sister; Armando Urias, Peter Urias, Eleanor Urias and Michael Urias.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 9:30 AM at Hillsong Church, 402 W. Monroe Street, Phoenix. Burial to follow at St. Francis Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.whitneymurphyfuneralhome.com
