BOHR, THOMAS JONATHAN

January 2, 2023 Leave A Condolence

Tom Bohr

Thomas Jonathan Bohr, 72, went home to Jesus December 14, 2022 with family by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Artis and older brother Michael II. He is survived by his wife of 31 years Debbie; brothers Randy, Nathan, and Jonathan along with their families; 2 stepchildren Rebecca Battistelli (Mike) and Paul Thuringer (Angela) and their families including 3 grandchildren who he adored. Family and friends alike recognized Tom’s good, sweet and kind spirit.

Tom attended Christ Lutheran School, Squaw Peak School, Camelback High School and Scottsdale Community College before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1970. He proudly served on 2 destroyers, the Perkins and the Carpenter during that time where he made lifelong friends. Shortly after leaving the Navy he began working at Fry’s/Kroger warehouse where he worked until his retirement in 2015.

Tom said he wanted to be remembered first of all as a Christian. He’d belonged to Christ Church Lutheran since 1955 when he was 5 years old and his family moved from St. Louis, where he was born in 1950. He had a wonderful voice and sang many years in the choir as well as working at many other service opportunities .
Tom loved his church, his family, his friends, baseball, golf, fishing and camping. After his marriage to Debbie in 1991 they traveled all over the states doing everything he loved to do. He often said the best vacation they ever had was the rafting trip with friends through the Grand Canyon.

During his last year when Alzheimer’s Disease took him further away from us, he loved going to the Adult Day Club at the HOV Dementia Care and Education Campus and then living full time at Huger Mercy Living Center, receiving excellent care at both places.

Donations in Tom’s memory may be made to Christ Church Lutheran-Music Department at 3901 E. Indian School Rd, Phoenix 85018; the HOV Dementia Care and Education Campus, 3811 N. 44th St, Phoenix 85018; or to Huger Mercy Living Center 2345 W. Orangewood Ave, Phoenix 85022.
Services are being held at Christ Church Lutheran,3901 E. Indian School Rd., on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 10:00 am.
