Ellen Ann Bolcko 76, of Glendale passed away on October 21, 2017. She was born on February 7, 1941 in Waterloo, Iowa to Robert and Catherine Darland. Ellen’s family came to Arizona in 1952. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Services and was a certified addiction counselor. She was a member of Women in Aviation International and held a private pilot license. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother; Joseph Darland. Survivors include her sister; Barbara Darland, daughters; Anita Gray and Jennifer Bolcko and grandson; Brett Laidlaw. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Thursday, October 26, with a Funeral Service at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 27, at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd. Interment will follow at Phoenix Memorial Park Cemetery, 200 W. Beardsley, Phoenix.

Sorry to hear of Ellen’s passing. My memory of her was as cousins playing together when we were young at their house. Hugs and prayers to family.

My dear Ellen we certianly had some some fun! That trip to fort launderdale that I’ll never forget. I remember saying “a bathing suit and extra undies and I’m ready to go!” Next thing I know I’m on a plane to the convention. Advice about my new career that meant the world to me. You helped me realize my true potential. I know you’re in the best place ever but you’ll be missed.
