Bonnie Jean Singer of Scottsdale, AZ, unfortunately passed away suddenly, Friday, March 13, 2009. Preceded in death by her father, Herbert L. Applegate. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Bonnie moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 1964. She graduated from Saguaro High School and received her B.A. degree from Arizona State University. At 58 years of age, she packed a lifetime of accolades into our lives. A devoted wife, mother to her two children, Todd Herbert Singer and Tiffany Elana Lovitz, brother James R. Applegate, sister, April L. Applegate and mother, Mary Mae A. Defiel. Stepbrothers, Michael, John and Ross Defiel, nieces Shawn Macmillan and Traci Blackstone. Admired, loved and adored by her students at Supai Elementary School and Laguna Elementary. In l987, Bonnie was a mystery shopper for the DuPont Corporation, in 1993, she went on to be a rep for 5 states for the DuPont Stainmaster Carpeting Division. In December of 2002, she was honored as Arizona Woman of the Year for the Arizona Floor Covering Association. People came from far and near to honor her. She was also very active in the organization of reunions for her class of l968. She was involved in many charitable organizations as well. To know Bonnie was to love her; beautiful from the inside out. Services are scheduled for Saturday, March 21st, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. in the main sanctuary, Valley Presbyterian Church, 6947 E. McDonald Drive, Paradise Valley, AZ, 85253. Reception immediately following the service at the same location. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Valley Presbyterian Church or Make a Wish Foundation, 711 E. Northern, Phx., 85028 or The Humane Society, 1521 W. Dobbins Road, Phx., 85041. Arrangements entrusted to Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home.
