Cecilia A. Brown Jasso passed away peacefully on January 5, 2023 at the age of 68 with loving family by her side. Born on January 2, 1955 in Phoenix, AZ to Manuel D. Martinez and Mary Jimenez Martinez, Cecilia was the second of four children, who all grew up in Glendale, AZ. She graduated from Apollo high school in 1973 whereas a freshman, she made the varsity tennis and volleyball teams.
In 1978, Cecilia began her career as a courtroom bailiff for the City of Phoenix, forming many cherished friendships before retiring in 2008. Cecilia made friends everywhere she went, and she enjoyed hosting those friends and family in her home. She enjoyed being outside and feeling the sun on her skin. Whether it be sitting on her front porch, or relaxing on the beaches of Rocky Point, Mexico or Oceanside, CA, her favorite beaches. Wherever she was, Cecilia would have music playing. Her love of music brought people together. She especially enjoyed live music and was quick to support and befriend those who shared the same love.
More than anything, Cecilia loved her family and friends. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her and were an integral part of her life. She loved being a nana and sharing what she loved with her grandchildren. Always quick to offer help and advice to anyone who needed it. She was thoughtful and generous, often buying items for loved ones when she recognized a need or felt they would benefit or appreciate the gift.
Cecilia A Brown Jasso truly had a heart of gold and was a wonderful person who will be missed incredibly by all those who loved and knew her.
Cecilia is preceded in death by her father, Manuel D. Martinez. She leaves behind her loving husband of 40 years, Reynaldo R. Jasso, her children; son Jason Brown Martinez, daughter Elisia D. Jasso, son Alejandro R. Jasso, and stepson Sergio (Jesse) Jasso as well as 7 grandchildren she dearly loved; Damien, Nadia, Penelope, Mila, Cyrus, Fiona and Luna. She is also survived by her mother, Mary L. Martinez, and her 3 siblings; Helen (Robert) Mendez, David (LuAnn) Martinez, and Manual (Sharon) Martinez Jr.
Rest in peace our dear Cecilia, we love you.
