ROMAN IF ONLY I COULD HAVE YOU BACK JUST A LITTLE LONGER WE COULD SIT AND TALK MY HEART IS BROKEN AND IN SO MUCH PAIN YOU ARE IN HEAVEN NOW BUT I WILL ALWAYS CHERISH YOUR MEMORIES IN MY HEART I LOVE YOU BROTHER
My condolences are extended to Roman’s immediate family, relatives and friends. I first got to know Roman from our 60’sHigh School days at South Mountain. We would greet and share some words of weekend parties or dances. Later, I would see Roman downtown are Hardy’s shoe store or at the clothing stores, where most their clothes.
My fondest memories of Roman were at the former Abel Dance Hall on S.19th Avenue , south of Vanburen. It was a place to meet and dance with the girls. Tunes like” Look in my eyes”, “Maybe” or, the “Plea” by the Chantells, or the Dubs,”Could this be Magic”, would resonate later when we would meet and remanence. Sometimes I would see Roman at the Riverside Ball room, are at the Calderon ballroom, or at some neighborhood party, where Roman would dance and makes his moves. Then late at night, various group of the boys and girls would all gather at the old Artic Circle for night snacks. Roman I knew more than Alex and Mike and the others,. Roman was friend of mine and a friend to have. Roman was always the one to crack a smile first, when he met you. Eternal salvation awaits all of us some sooner, some later, but we must always pray that our precious Lord will take our hand to the promise land. May Roman’s soul rest in peace. God Bless and thanks for the memories.
