Eddie Cano III obit

Eddie “OG III” Cano III, 63, beloved father, tata, brother, cousin, and friend, was called home by our Heavenly Father on April 25, 2021. Born on Camp Pendleton, CA on April 4, 1958 to his mother Emilia Espudo and father Edward Cano II. They relocated to Phoenix, AZ in 1959 where he remained a strong South Phoenician. He graduated from South Mountain High School in 1976 and was the oldest of 5 children, Priscilla, Robert (Sarah), Charles (Mary), and Michael.

He loved going fishing and making others laugh with his bold personality. He adored sharing memories of him playing basketball with friends at the Cano home, his softball league days with “La Familia”, and cruisin’ the streets of South Phoenix.

He is survived by his 3 children Edward IV (Gina), Eric (Brianna) and Paula; 6 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, friends and loving partner Carol. Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Edward II; mother, Emilia; and youngest brother; Michael.

Visitation will take place on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 5:00pm with Rosary to follow at 6:00pm at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 2312 E. Campbell Avenue, Phoenix, AZ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 10:30am, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. I want to express my sincere and deepest condolences for the entire family. Paula is one of my very good friends and my heart breaks that she and all of you loved ones have to go through this. Mr. Canno III is now free from suffering and celebrating in the heaven above with the rest of the Saints called home. I pray that God continues to shower you with his love and grace and to keep you grounded as well as on him and not the storm. Hang in there. May God bless you all

Our sincere condolences to Carol and the Cano family.

Eddie was a dear High School friend and I have many many memories of him. One being, he taught me to drive my first four speed. I’ll always remember hanging out In Front of his house listening to Santana. He was friends of my wife and I and was able to keep in contact with him this last year via texting and received his last text congratulating me on my marriage in February. I will miss how he could make me laugh.

    Dad,
I keep replaying that Friday night with you. Got you settled back in the room. Fixed your chair and got your feet up in the air. Got you relaxed. Remember asking if you were up to par on the Mayans show. You said “nah the f*#*#* TV at the hospital was crap” I laughed and said “hold up I got you” I found the show and put it on for you..you were very content especially with your albondigas soup. This is one of many moments about you that I will never forget and many more. “I LOVE YOU DAD!!” Stay Brown OGIII
    YOUR SON,

I send my deepest condolences and prayers to my best friend Paula and the entire family for such a great loss. I may not have known Mr. Cano (Eddie) my whole life but when I was around him he always made me feel like another daughter to him. I always felt like my late father was coming to me through him because they were so similar. Both had those outgoing sarcastic attitudes and could always make you laugh.

You fought so hard Eddie and for that you get to rest. No more suffering, no more pain.

    Much love and respect always.

Rest Peacefully Uncle Eddie, I know you are no longer in pain. My earliest memory of you would be me walking into Nana Emily and Tata Ed’s house and you would always say something like “Get your a$$ over here mija and give me hug.” As I got older, when walking into the door, I always made the effort to give you a hug before you could even say anything, knowing I got to your first! RIP OG III
    Love Bree

    Dad,
We laid you to rest yesterday, and it still doesn’t feel real. This is a feeling I’m sure I’ll never get used to, but I’ll learn to understand that you are with me everyday in spirit. You are in a beautiful place and mo longer in pain.
I could go on and on about all the memories we shared and many lessons you have taught me, but I’ll simply say, I am SO PROUD to be YOUR daughter.
Please continue to always watch over us and protect us. I promise I will continue making you proud, smiling and laughing.

I Love You Muchooo Muchooo With All My Heart

    Always,
    Your Monk
