CANO, MICHAEL ALEXANDER

February 15, 2021 2 Condolences

Michael Cano

Michael Alexander Cano, 50, passed away on January 30, 2021. Michael was born on February 10, 1970 to Emilia Espudo and Edward Cano II. He was the youngest of 5 children (Eddie III, Bobby, Priscilla and Charlie).

Michael was a life- long South Phoenician and graduated from South Mountain High School. He loved giving rides to everyone in his golf cart with his dog, Grizzly, by his side. “Big Mike” as he was lovingly called, played softball with a passion and was one of the best players around! He was a gentleman through and through and always made you feel special. If you needed a hand, Michael was there to help. If you were hungry, Michael would be there with a plate full of food his mom had just made – especially tamales during Christmas! His laughter, charm and smile will be forever remembered in our hearts.

Michael is survived by his three children, Ciera Hernandez, Charlie 22, and Michael Cano, 20.

The viewing for Michael and his mom, Emilia, will be on Thursday, February 18, 2021from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. (rosary at 6pm) at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 2312 E. Campbell Ave, Phoenix, AZ. The Funeral Mass will also be celebrated at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church on February 19, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. Burial for Emilia and Michael will immediately follow at St. Francis Cemetery.

All are welcome but social distancing will be strictly enforced (please wear a mask). For those unable to attend, the viewing and mass will be available through the STA live-stream website: https://www.staphx.org/
