Penny Carr was born December 10, 1932 in Jackson, Mississippi to Samuel and Clytie Lindsey. She was the youngest of 5 children. She married Bob Carr on November 10, 1952. They were married for over 64 years before his passing on November 30, 2016. Shortly after they wed, Penny and Bob packed their car with their belongings and moved West to California. She worked as a beautician, in nursing, and as a homemaker.
Later, Penny and Bob retired on beautiful Table Rock Lake in Blue Eye, Missouri where they enjoyed Branson, their community, the lake, and country living. They spent winters in Gilbert, Arizona enjoying the mild weather and the sporting events of their grandchildren. After Bob went to be with the Lord, Penny moved to Chandler to be closer to family. She loved God and found joy in her Chihuahua Lexie, her daily Bible study, creating jewelry with her beads, and spending time with her grandsons and great-grandchildren. She also always loved a little dessert after dinner. Nanny loved her family beyond words and leaves a legacy of love, kindness, giving, and wisdom. She was a devoted follower of Jesus and strongly believed in the power of prayer.
Along with Poppy, she will be dearly missed and remembered every day.
