CASSAVANT SR., JOSEPH ALBERT
Joseph Albert Cassavant, Sr., 79, died on Friday, July 30, 2021, in Scottsdale, from complications of Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was born in North St. Paul, Minnesota, on August 31, 1941, to Harry E. and Alice M. (Brisson) Cassavant. The family moved to Phoenix when Joe was five. After graduating from St. Mary’s High School, Joe attended Phoenix College where he obtained his associate degree.
After graduation, Joe married the love of his life, Sharon Marie McNeill. Ten years after they were married, they started an aerospace machining company, Cassavant Machining, Inc. In addition, Joe was an active parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and a long-time member of the Phoenix Country Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, entertaining, BBQing, and socializing with friends and family.
Joe is survived by Sharon, his wife of 59 years. He is also survived by his three children, Angie of Phoenix, Joe Jr. (Jennifer) of Chandler, and Ed (Elissa) of Paradise Valley. His loving grandchildren include Shawna (Eric), Alysson (Chris), Joe III, Ashley, Jessica, Jake, Bradley (deceased), Lynley, Hadley, and Raeley. His great-grandchildren include Nathan and Dylan. Furthermore, he is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.

Our sincerest condolences to the Cassavant family from your friends and Nammo Defense Systems. May you enjoy memories of all the good times.
I met J.C. 10 years ago when I started working at Cassavant. He and I had an immediate connection as a result of having an “Old School” mind set in the Machining business. He always took the time to say hello and engage in conversation. I am thinking of you in your time of grief. You were blessed to have a father so special and caring. I was honored to know him. Please accept our sincerest condolences from the crew at Osborn. Joe was a man of vision and drive. He will be sorely missed.

So sorry for your loss. Was always happy to see Sharon and Joe visit my clothing store. I know that you will have years of many great memories.
One of my best fishing buddies I’ve ever had. We shared some great stories on my boat and caught some nice fish. Also loved when he and his lovely wife would come into my clothing store. His wife would shop and Joe and I would talk fishing. Going to miss him dearly.
My deepest condolences to the Cassavant family, JC was a wonderful person. To whom knew him enjoyed him around. He brightened up the work place before he retired & his sons took over for him. Again, very very sorry for your loss ❤
