CASTRO, XAVIER M.

March 15, 2013 7 Condolences

CASTRO,

36 years of age was born September 3, 1976 in Scottsdale, AZ, entered into rest on March 12, 2013 surrounded by family and friends. He served as a civil engineering plans examiner at the City of Scottsdale for 17 years. During his tenure at the City, Xavier served on the Board of Directors for Scottsdale Leadership, and as a member of the Scottsdale Diversity Advisory Committee (DAC). He also worked several years for the San Francisco Giants Organization at Scottsdale Stadium during Spring Training games. Xavier was a dedicated, hard working individual, a kind loving son, and to many, a true friend. He had a great love for sports and enjoyed pre-game tailgating parties with close friends. His presence, made known in any room that he set foot in; his personality, larger than life itself; his heart, full of compassion for all friends and family and his smile, inviting, even for those that didn’t know him. Xavier attended grade school and served as an altar boy at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH). He graduated from Brophy College Preparatory in 1994 and moved on to University of Arizona, followed by Scottsdale Community College. He is survived by his parents Daniel and Nellie Castro, stepbrother Robert Castro, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Castro and Martinez families. Visitation will be from 5-6pm with Rosary at 6pm, Monday, March 18 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ. Funeral Mass will be at 10am, Tuesday, March 19 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH), 3801 N. Miller Road, Scottsdale, AZ. Interment will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th Street, Phoenix, AZ. Reception to follow.
