It was with a great sense of loss when I heard of Rosie’s death.
I wanted to let you know that you have my greatest sympathy, and my heart is truly saddened.
Rosie was more than just a wonderful person; she was always so kind and considerate. She was like a second mom to me in my early years as a child.I always welcomed seeing her at every opportunity.
We know that her passing will not only leave a void in our lives, but in the hearts of all those who knew her.
Rosie will always remain within my heart, and I have included Rosie and her family in my daily prayers.May God give you strength.
My sincere thoughts and prayers are with you.
With my deepest sympathy,
Monique

I am so so sorry to hear of Rosie’s way too soon passing. I just lost my father, but he was 95 and ready for his next adventure. Rosie didn’t get to enjoy her retired life, traveling all over with her loving husband. She lived for her sons and grandchildren and will be missed by all deeply. All of the teens she worked with and helped will miss her greatly. Thank the Lord for his promises of life everlasting. Rosie will join our other lost love ones in watching over us all.

I had the wonderful experience of working with Rosie at Cesar Chavez Library and, when she’d stop in at Ironwood Library, of hearing about all of the adventures she was having after she retired. She was so proud of her family—especially those grandkids—and held them very dear. My heart goes out to you all and I’m send thoughts of comfort and peace your way. Rosie’s vibrant, playful, and loving presence among us will be very missed.

As a friend and colleague at Harmon Library, I will miss Rosie’s sparkle and her dedication to the people of this community. She was a light for so many young people here and a caring presence to many families. My heartfelt condolences to Jacob and all Rosie’s family. May the good that Rosie generated with her actions here come back to her family now as some comfort in this time of loss.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Rosie’s passing. Rosie was an amazing woman and will live on in the positive effect she had on so many lives. Rosie and I worked together sporadically over the course of our library careers: the General Information Desk at the ‘old’ Central Library, as Teen Librarians for several years, and again at Harmon Library, where she was popular with customers and staff alike. Rosie was always happy, loved working with people, loved her grandkids and never missed an opportunity to challenge young people to be their best. I will miss her boundless energy and the ‘can-do’ attitude she brought to everything. She touched many lives. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Rosie was one of the first people I met when I started working at the library over 20 years ago. She was kind and welcoming, and so funny. She was a friend who shared good advice and sometimes just a sympathetic ear. I have missed not seeing her every day and will miss her even more now.
My sincere condolences to Rosie’s family. She loved you all so much.

Dear Dr. Chavez and family:
I only knew Rosie for a few years but I was always struck by her vivaciousness and love of life. I had the pleasure and honor of working with Rosie at the Cesar Chavez branch for about 5 months before she retired. One of my last memories of her was at the library’s 5th anniversary party in January. She was dancing barefoot to the mariachi band with a her beautiful smile on her face, just having so much fun. And that was Rosie, living and loving life and making life better for all of those around her. She will be missed. I am so sorry for your loss.
