Grace Marie Crawford was taken to be with our Lord on Saturday, January 26th, 2019 in Gilbert, AZ. Grace was 93.
Grace was born on 7/5/1925 to John and Elizabeth (Delagardelle) Herrmann in LaPorte City, IA. Grace was the youngest of 7 siblings. Grace grew up on the family farm in Gilbertville, IA where she was relied upon to complete her chores each and every day. At the age of 20 she met her soulmate, Jack Leroy Crawford, and soon after married him on 8/22/1946 in Waterloo, IA. Grace and Jack left Iowa in 1956 in pursuit of job opportunities which took them to Arizona, California, Georgia and back to Arizona where they finally settled in 1969. She spent most of her life in AZ on a 7.7acre pecan farm about 30 miles west of Phoenix, and in 1993 eventually settled in a smaller home in Chandler, AZ close to her daughter Tina. Grace loved watching sports. She loved her Diamondbacks, Suns and Cardinals. Grace’s favorite athlete to watch was her grandson Jared. She thoroughly enjoyed watching him play sports from early elementary school through his college years. Grace loved gathering with friends and family and always made everybody feel like part of the family. She was Mom and Grandma to all who loved her and an Auntie that always made everyone feel special. Her strong faith and hope for humanity shined a bright light of life to all that knew her.
Grace is survived by her daughter Tina (David) and her grandson Jared (who is her pride and joy) and many nieces and nephews. Grace is preceded in death by her husband Jack, her daughter Carla Jo, her parents John and Elizabeth, her brothers Arnold, Francis and Vincent, and her sisters Louise, Sister Bernadine and Elizabeth.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Juan Diego Catholic Church, 3200 S. Cooper Rd, Chandler, AZ 85286.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Grace’s name to The Society of St. Vincent De Paul.

I loved and always will love Grandma Grace. We had a very special bond as I could talk to her about everything. She will always have a place in my heart. She was my family. My smile at all occasions. God bless her and I’m so happy she found her peace.
