DALE, JAMES GREGORY “GREG”

September 3, 2010 Leave A Condolence

DALE,

passed away at the age of 62 on Sunday, August 29th, 2010 at Hospice of the Valley, Sherman Home in Phoenix, Arizona. Greg was determined to fight and lost his battle with cancer which took him too soon from us. Greg was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 21st, 1948 and later moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1960. Greg attended Brophy College Preparatory where he acquired success and recognition for athletics, specifically his propensity toward basketball. Greg joined the Army February 21, 1966 where he was stationed in Long Island, New York. His rank was specialist 4 and he was honorably discharged in 1969 in order to care for his family. He had several interesting careers but nothing more meaningful than the business he built and developed with his colleague and partner, Border Precast, Inc. in Yuma, Arizona. Greg was an entrepreneur, as demonstrated by his successful business in precast for the last 18 years. The most important things to Greg were the simple things in life with his first priority and favorite being his family. He was our rock and did whatever he could to support and protect us all. He was a plant enthusiast and went to the nursery every weekend rain or 115 degree heat to ensure his yard of all of ours were looking great. He was a fantastic chef, and always had a knack for making creative dishes off the top of his head. He remained athletic and enjoyed weekends playing tennis, working in the yard and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. When he did take time to get away he favored spending time in San Diego taking morning walks and watching the dolphins with his wife. He is survived by his Wife Francee; Children; Stephanie (Jay), Jeff (Kim), Lori (Rusty), Janine and Jennifer; Grandchildren; Devan, Damien, Dominic, Colby, Cassidy and Jaelyn; Sisters Joyce and Becky; and Mother; Ethel. He was preceded in death by his Father; James and Sister Susan. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00 pm, Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Friday, September 3, 2010, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 330 W. Coral Gables Dr. Phoenix, AZ. Interment will be at 12:30 pm, Friday, September 3, 2010 at National Memorial Cemetery of AZ, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix.
