William Daniel

William “Bill” Andrew Daniel, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020, at the age of 73.  He was born on June 23, 1947 in Canton, Ohio to James and Ruth Daniel. Upon graduating from Perry High School, he became an iron worker with Local #550 for 16 years.  Bill moved with his wife and children to Phoenix in 1980 where he was self-employed in the automotive industry until retiring in 2016.

Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Virginia (Snyder); daughters Dana (John), Lori (Matt), and Amy (Reyes); and grandchildren (JD, Bradley, Mariah, Sabrina, Andrew, Gannon, Mia, and Marissa); siblings Twila, David, Dale, and Claudia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Ed and Veronica; and son Scott.

Bill had a passion for sports and loved watching his grandchildren play their various sports. He had a huge heart, was both fun and funny, and had a zany sense of humor. It is impossible to measure the tremendous impact he had or the numbers of lives that he touched throughout his lifetime.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ on Friday, November 6, 2020, between 2pm and 4pm. Immediately following, family and friends are invited to join the family for a reception at Dana’s house. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the PAN Foundation at https://www.panfoundation.org/ways-to-give/ or the Arizona Humane Society at https://www.azhumane.org.  If you are unable to attend the celebration of life gathering, we will be live streaming it at https://www.facebook.com/WhitneyMurphyFH/live/, provided by Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home.

Bill was a great guy. I have many fond memories of ski trips with him and the family. Bill helped me out many times with automotive advice and parts. My prayers go out to the family. I hope you are all doing well.

Thank you Virginia for speaking to me the other day! Bill loved playing soft ball in the old ball field that was across from our house and 2 ext. lots. We had everything to sustain the family through Winter. Bill had a way of when playing out fielder, letting that ball go into my dads garden. You know what he stole, and every class reunion that he came back to ,I teased him. May God comfort you and your family through these days of sorrow from his absence, till you see each other again!

Condolence from Alan and Lora Halling on October 28th, 2020 10:35 am

We met Bill and Virginia soon after we moved into the neighborhood almost 30 years ago. They watched our children grow and came to their graduations. Bill was always available to help with any project that might need to be taken care of. He always had a smile and a friendly hello as he and Virginia walked through the neighborhood on their morning walks. We enjoyed sharing our vacation pictures and stories over glasses of wine. Bill will be missed terribly. But we are extremely glad we had the opportunity to get to know him.

Heart felt condolences to Virginia and the whole family. We’ve had many great times with Bill and Virginia, parties gatherings, outings, softball games, etc. He was a real friend and his loss hurts all of us in the large circle of friends who will miss him deeply. We will always remember … God bless William!

Paul and I were fortunate to have the opportunity to meet and spend time with Bill and his family. Bill had a wonderful sense of humor and a real jokester. Bill will definitely be missed but was very much loved. We hope to see you again Bill in Heaven.

I am so sorry to hear of Bill’s passing from my parents. My condolences to each of you and may you all find peace and comfort in the memories which will last a lifetime for you. Bill was certainly a character and I always enjoyed seeing him and laughing. I have many memories of visiting him with my dad (Donald Duck) at the car lot. He was always willing to lend a helping a hand and advice whenever asked. He will be missed.
