D’APUZZO, MARION T.

October 19, 2012 2 Condolences

D’APUZZO,

Marion D’Apuzzo passed away peacefully, at home, on October 15, 2012. The world lost a wonderful and loving mother. She was born May 17, 1915 in New York. Mom graduated from Hunter College in Manhattan with a degree in Education. She went on to teach school in Phoenix and was an active member and Prefect of St. Theresa Sodality. She loved to travel and always looked for the opportunity to go anywhere. She and our Dad spent many of their happiest years at their home in Prescott and made many wonderful friends there. Mom made friends wherever she went. She had a great sense of humor and a strong love of God. She is survived by two sisters, Margaret Morrissey and Lillian Whiteford; her 9 children, Barbara Dempsey, George (Judith), Judy D’Apuzzo, Bill, Jane O’Clair (Ed), Joan Thomas (Bob), Marion Rommel (Steve), Steve (Star), Christopher (Elise); 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, October 25, 2012, 6:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary Service at 7:30 P.M. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ. There will be Funeral Mass Friday, October 26, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix. The family asks in lieu of flowers donations be made in her name to the St. Mary’s Food Bank or the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
