Joseph Davis, 90, born in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, went to meet The Lord with open arms on Saturday, September 19, 2015 after battling pancreatic cancer. He resided in Phoenix, Arizona for more than 50 years. He entered the Novitiate in Los Gatos, California. and was a Jesuit Brother for 25 years. He served at Alma College and Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley in California and Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix, AZ.
Joseph attended daily mass at St. Joachim and Ann Catholic Church in Peoria, AZ and St. John of the Desert Melkite Catholic Church in Phoenix, AZ. Joseph was an active member of The Phoenix Serra Club for 15 years and The Radio Family Rosary for many years. He loved spending time with all of his family, especially with his 37 nieces and nephews, attending all their graduations and birthday parties.
Joseph is survived by his best friend and love of his life, Ursula Smith as well as five brothers and sisters: Helen Petersen, Genevieve Gedeon, John (Evelyn) Davis, Pauline (Jim) Hamra, and Paul (Shirley) Davis.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Nabiha Davis, and sister, Nora (Bob) Kirkish.
The funeral will be held at Brophy Chapel, 4701 N. Central Avenue, Phoenix on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Serra Club of Phoenix or St. John of the Desert Melkite Catholic Church.
Uncle Joe, We will miss you and we thank you for all that you did for us, especially by your example of living and sharing your faith. We love you.
