St. Mary’s class 1982. My deepest condolences. Father Alonso began inspiring me when I was very young and because of it attended St. Mary’s. He was an exceptional person.

Today we lost a wonderful and beautiful man. Father Alonzo was not only a great teacher, friend, and man,but Saint Mary’s greatest cheerleader. He will always be an inspiration and example of what is right in this crazy world we live in. Our loss is heaven’s gain. God has a new right hand man who is most likely up for the challenge. All who had the pleasure of knowing this man, is better off today. We should strive to carry on in his memory. I am honored to have known him. Love and God’s speed in your new journey Father!

So sorry to hear of our loss, yes our loss. Fr Alanso was a wonderful friend and gentle giant. I knew him from BGDHS here in Santa Barbara . I will never forget his kindness and humor. He was one of a kind and I am so blessed knowing him. God bless you abundantly my friend. Until we meet again.

What happiness this gentle, but powerful soul brought to families. His love will be remembered by young and old alike. My husband and I were privileged to have Father Alonso marry us and our two daughters. Everyone who attended those weddings remember not only the man, but his words.
