Donald Edward “Eddie” Deuel

Donald (EDDIE) Edward Deuel passed away on October 3rd, 2012 at the age of 87. He passed away (at home in San Tan Valley, AZ) from heart failure and pneumonia. He was born on May 12, 1925 in Laramie, WY. He is best known for being the first Chief of Medical Media Productions at the VA Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. He held this position for over 26 years. He was the founder of the VA Employee Association. He was also a member of the BPA. Eddie was married to Elizabeth (Betty) Jean Rhoades for 36 wonderful years. Betty preceded him in death on October 14, 2000. They are together once again in Heaven. Together they had four sons, Paul, Don, Bob and Pat. He is also survived by his sister, Dona Roberson. He had six grandchildren, Ashley, Ryland and Gage (Children of Don) and Elizabeth Mann (Child of Bob with Deanna Mann), Emily Rockwell and Blake Rockwell (Children of Bob who is married to Jodi Rockwell). He also had one Great-grandchild named Jude Paolo (Son of Elizabeth Mann, Bob’s first daughter). A Memorial Service will be held at St. Joan of Arc, 3801 E. Greenway Road, in Phoenix, AZ on Saturday, October 13th, 2012 at 12 noon. All friends and family are welcome to come. We would like to thank Hospice of the Valley for all their assistance and support during his final days. Memorial donations will be greatly appreciated and can be sent to Deuel Estate at 1058 E. Mayfield Drive, San Tan Valley, AZ 85143. We would also like to thank Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home for their assistance in planning his memorial service. Eddie will be remembered with great love and honor, the way that he lived his life, as a peaceful, honorable, giving and loving Man. May he rest in Peace.
