DIXON,

William E. Dixon (Bill), 88 years old, passed away Friday, October 14th at Hospice of the Valley. Mr. Dixon has resided in Phoenix, AZ for the past 31 years. For many years he worked as a machinist at General Motors and was a retired veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents William Earl Dixon and Emma Dixon and sister Lee Keller. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Rose Mary c. Dixon, nieces and nephews Lee Maris Sides, Marcia Ryan, Bill Carvin, John and Sharon England, Mike England, great-nieces and nephews, Kelly Henkel, Sara Ryan, Sherry Wagner, Shelley Newell, Houng Gilmore, Jason, David, Aaron and Ben Vanleeween, great, great-nieces and nephews, Laceyanna Ryan, Jeannette Henkel, Ryan Henkel, Brandon Monell, Shelby Gilmore, Louis Gilmore, Stephanie Fisher, and Corey and Kyle Newell and Godfather to Katy Williams. He was born August 23, 1923 in Indianapolis, Indiana. William was a humanitarian who loved cats and loved to read. He married Rose Mary C. Dixon, November 9th 1946 and he was a beloved Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am, Friday, October 21, 2011 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2312 E. Campbell Avenue, Phoenix. Interment will take place at 12:30pm, Friday, October 21, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix. He will be immensely missed by the many who loved him.
