Mark Elliott Dodd, 45 years old, died unexpectedly on April 22, 2021. His loss was completely unexpected, and the family is shocked and deeply saddened. Mark was born September 12, 1975 to Kenneth and Margaret Dodd. He is survived by his parents, Ken & Pegi, 5 brothers and 3 sisters and their families. Mark graduated from Salpointe Catholic High School in 1993 and attended the Golf Academy of Phoenix. Mark was an avid golfer and loved playing the game. Mark enjoyed cooking, music, hanging out at his favorite local pubs with friends, and being with family. Mark worked for Costco for the past 8 years and previously worked for Blackstone Country Club at Vistancia. Mark was also a respite and habilitation caregiver for JJ who was dear to his heart. Anyone who knew Mark, knew that he was genuine, kind, intelligent, witty, humorous, random information guru and most importantly just someone you really wanted to hang out with. Mark was very passionate about golf and genuinely cared for his family and friends. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back if it were the only article of clothing he owned. Mark’s family and friends will miss him more than words can say. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mark can be made to Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center.
There will be a funeral service held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home located at 4800 E Indian School Rd, Phoenix. If you cannot attend the service, please consider posting on their website, whitneymurphyfuneralhome.com.

Pegi and Ken, my deepest condolences on Mark’s passing. He was a great friend through high school
And college… right up until he started beating me regularly in golf. I wasn’t aware of his connection to Autism which is the field I work in. If there’s something related to Autism, or supporting those with Autism that I can do here in Tucson please don’t hesitate to reach out.

My deepest condolences to the family. Mark was a great friend from OMOS. He was a dear friend, my first “crush”, and very first dance partner (junior high). Everyone loved Mark. His smile and whit lit up the room. Goodbye my friend.

We met Mark when he and our son, Travis, became friends while attending the golf academy. They spent every day together commuting to the east side for classes and hours golfing at various courses around the valley. When Mark drove he’d usually come in to chat and have a cold beverage, sometimes a bite to eat. They would both be very sweaty and sunburned but that didn’t stop them from sharing the days’ activities, as only the two of them could, full of humor and wit! Their love of golf was obvious and they worked very hard to get their degrees!!
Mark would sit at the island and provide many, much appreciated cooking tips and suggestions. His love of sweets, especially peanut M&M’s, was an on-going joke at our house…we usually had a bowl of candy on the island where Mark would usually sit, by the time he left the bowl would be empty. The funny thing was he didn’t even realize he was eating them! Those were very good times, so glad we have those memories!
Mark was an awesome guy and we were blessed to have known him! Rest in peace, Mark!
Our sincerest condolences to Mark’s family – may your many memories help get you through this very difficult time.

Dear Mark,
You left such a warm loving impact in this lifetime. Not only are you everyone’s favorite uncle but everyone’s favorite person. You’re affectionate energy will be missed. I miss your laugh and your humor so much. Every time I cook or pass a golf course I think of you and know you are with me. Until we meet again my sweet Uncle.
Love Lauren.
