Prior commitments preclude me from attending Rudy’s funeral. My name is Fred Dover and I am a member of The First Families of Arizona. I was always glad to see Rudy sitting at a back table when I arrived at the meeting. I would go and talk to him and exchange greetings and small talk. I will miss his smiling face and friendship. May God have mercy on his soul and bring him to everlasting life.

“You’ll never see it from the road”, Rudy’s byword and acceptance of whatever was put before him. Rudy, thank you for all your years of love and devotion to Catholic Renewal Ministries. You spent much love and labor in the kitchen for all that attended meetings, conventions, and Mass at Renewal. You meals were always so delicious. What a beautiful example you are of the servant of Christ. You will always be in out thoughts and prayers. Give Bea a big hug for us, please.

We were very sorry to see the obituary for Rudy when it was in the paper. My Mom is the daughter of Andrea Torres Hintze and was a cousin of Rudy’s. I only met Rudy once but instantly found him friendly, engaging, and someone who was happy and enjoyed life. We talked about the Torres family from Nazas, Mexico and he provided stories and copies of pictures. I would have taken my Mom to the services but she was in nursing care after a fall in mid October and subsequent hip surgery, and I left the country for a trip the day of the service. Please accept our sincere condolences and know that Rudy was seen as a man who valued and celebrated life.
