Toni Godoy Dorame of Phoenix AZ, age 83, passed away at home on March 6, 2021. Toni was born on February 4, 1938 in Miami, AZ. Toni graduated from Miami High in 1957 and married Alfred Dorame in 1958. They moved to Phoenix and had three daughters during their 21-year marriage. Toni was hard-working and dependable, working for Motorola for more than 30 years before retiring in 1998. Toni’s family was her pride and joy. She enjoyed family gatherings (holidays, birthdays, pool parties, tamale-making), mountain outings (camping, cabin, snow, Oak Creek, Pine Flats), and reunions/celebrations with extended family.
Toni is preceded in death by parents Felicitas (1994) and Plutarco Godoy (1978) and daughter Yvonne Jo (1981). She is survived by sisters: Ann Godoy (Phoenix) and Frances (Simon) Ortiz (San Tan Valley); children: Sylvia (Brian) Spector (Phoenix); Elizabeth (Julius) Lockett (San Tan Valley); 6 grandchildren: Anthony Carillo, Rachel Spector, Jessica Carillo, Ana Peyton, Jonah Spector, and Dasia Lockett; and 7 great grandchildren: Enrique, Lizette, Jayden, Gavin, Leo, Alexander, and Armani. Toni was a supportive, generous, strong matriarch, respected, loved, and admired by her family. She will be greatly missed.
On Friday, March 19, 2021 there will be a visitation from 9:00 – 10:00am at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd, Phoenix, followed by a 10:30am Mass celebration at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 E. Thomas Rd, Phoenix.
