Patricia “Pat” Ann (Johnson) Dwyer peacefully passed away on March 17, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Pat was born on January 21, 1933, to the late Hubert Johnson and Lula Mae (Ware) Johnson. Pat was born in Texas and later moved to Arizona with her family when she was 5 years old. She attended Wilson Grade School and Phoenix Union High School (Class of 1951). Pat married the love of her life, Paul M. Dwyer on March 27, 1953. Together they had three daughters, Janice Dwyer Paul (Michael), Brenda Dwyer Allen, and Sharon Dwyer, all of Arizona. Pat is survived by her three daughters, her best friend/sister, Pearl Biedrzycki, her three grandchildren, Kathryn Paul, Zachary Paul (Isabella), and Douglas Paul (Suzanne), her seven great-grandchildren, Margaret, Josephine, Owen, Thomas, Edward, Christopher and Philip and her beloved cat Missy. Pat is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Paul M. Dwyer, her parents, Hubert and Lula Mae Johnson, her sister, Durleen Lawrence and her brother Homer Johnson.
Pat had a long lasting career with Valley National Bank in Phoenix, AZ (1951-1990). Pat always had a natural ability (obsession) to keep all her important documents/records organized in perfect order and she took pride in managing her and Paul’s finances to a tee.
Pat loved spending time with her family, friends, and long-time neighbors. Pat always offered a warm hug and smile to everyone she met. She had an extremely generous heart and was always finding ways to help out family members, friends and neighbors in time of need.
She loved to bake in her spare time and was known for her famous Christmas cookies that she would distribute to friends and family each year. Pat’s and her sister Pearl’s favorite pastime was going shopping every Saturday for the entire day! Pat also loved attending monthly Pioneer Club Luncheons with Pearl.
Pat was an avid sports fan and especially loved to watch football and baseball games on TV. Pat shared this passion with her grandson Zachary who would often times join her once a week to watch a game. Pat also enjoyed going to Chase Field with her family to watch the Diamondbacks play.
