Edward Alphonse Toschik

Edward A. Toschik, 89 went happily to be with the Lord on April 21, 2009, just ten days before his 90th birthday. He was born May 1, 1919 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to George and Catherine Durler. Ed graduated from Messmer High School and his first job was at the Warner Theater in Milwaukee. He was married on May 30, 1941 and later joined the Navy during World War II. He served on the aircraft carrier USS Siboney 1944-46. Ed’s wife Bernadette Mondloch passed in 1953 shortly after the family moved to Phoenix where they lived on Clarendon Avenue and were members of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. Ed joined Motorola Corporation upon his arrival in Phoenix and stayed with them until retirement. He married his loving wife Amy Burbank in 1954 and together they had three children bringing the family to seven children. Ed has always been very active in his church, St. Thomas the Apostle, where he was a server at morning mass and a member of the Holy Name Society. He was a very loving man who had many friends. He will be missed by all. Ed is survived by his children Mary, Dorothy, Edward, William, Theresa, and Rita son Damian is deceased, 1968. He is also survived by, his sister Catherine, brothers Larry and Bro. Cyrus Franciscan and 32 grand/great-grand children. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 29, from 8:30-9:00 am, at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home with a 9:00 am Rosary. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, April 29, at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2312 E. Campbell Avenue. Interment at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
